2026 Spring / Summer Seaon Info

COACHES: Our Turtles are being led through the water by Coach Enrico, our Head Coach, and Coach Abby, our Assistant Head Coach. Our returning Assistant Coaches are Coach Charlie, leading our Silver Group. Coach Misha, Coach Angelina, Coach Megan, Coach KJ, and working with Silver and Bronze: Coach Emmalee, leading Bronze, and Coach Sashank, our Jr coach in Bronze! We want to welcome Coach Avery to the team. She will be working with Silver Competitive. You can read more about all of our amazing coaches here.

Our practices are back-to-back, and our coaches need to give their full attention to the swimmers in the water. If you have any questions about your swimmers' practice, please email Coach Enrico at Enricom@vhparkdistrict.org. Your Head Coach, Enrico, will have "office hours" on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:10 to discuss anything pool-related. Those times will.

PRACTICE: We have five practice times, depending on your swimmer's age group. Please see the Turtles website for the practice schedule. There is a team rule that parents not come onto the pool deck during practice times to avoid distracting coaches or swimmers from coaching. The High School locker rooms on deck are open only to swimmers. If you are absent from practice for more than 2 days, please notify your swimmer's coach or the Head Coach. If you plan to be gone for a few days, your swim coach would appreciate a heads-up so they don't worry.

MEETS: All swimmers with a payment method will be automatically invited to all Rec meets. All swimmers with an up-to-date USA Swimming membership will be invited to all eligible meets.

It is very important-The coaches need to know who WILL NOT attend a meet; in other words, “decline” a meet in Commit Swimming.

Check out this link to help if you don't know how to declare for the meet. Meet Declaration

Please make sure you are logged in to the website to see declarations. The deadline to decline is highlighted in Red. The coaches spend a lot of time choosing which events the swimmers will enter and creating relay teams, so it is very helpful and appreciated if they know who will not be attending.

During meets, you typically will not see coaches in the team area or at the ready area. Coaching assignments are split between coaches and are often on a rotation. This includes reviewing DQs, timing/splits, technique, or block support. Please note, ONLY a coach may dispute a call; parents are not to question officials. This is typically the head coach, but with the head coach's permission, an assistant coach may also dispute a call. If you have any questions about a call made by an official, please go to your swimmer's coach.

What to Bring: sunscreen, pop-up, chairs, blanket, two towels, layers of clothing, plenty of water, snacks or money for snack bar, things to keep swimmers entertained between events like coloring stuff-no crayons they melt, games, deck of cards, books, small handheld toys, don’t forget the swimsuit! Please keep in mind that swimmers may be away from their belongings for extended periods, so take care of all valuables.

VOLUNTEERING: Each family is required to volunteer 1 shift throughout the season, and 1 at Champs For Rec meets. Job descriptions are available on our team website under the Jobs tab.

Check out this link to help if you don't know how to sign up for a job. Volunteer Job Sign-Up

FUNDRAISING: Our annual Relay-a-Thon is a major event for the team and raises much-needed funds to cover the cost of running the program. Some costs include equipment, awards, team gear, team outings, and more. This event will be held every year in October during your swimmers' practice. Prizes are awarded for the most laps swam and for the tiered level of money raised. More information about this exciting event will be available soon! If any parents have a fundraiser idea, please let Coach Abby or Coach Enrico know so we can explore getting it started.

TEAM PHOTOS: Will be July 28th. This will be done as a group in our 2026 Spring Summer T-shirt with black Shorts. Please make sure you wear both shirts.
